Hive Mind is a conceptual vinyl design created for my favorite band, The Internet, and their album of the same name. Their music blends Alternative R&B, soul, and funk, with themes of young love, relationships, and togetherness. The band’s personality feels bold, colorful, and playful, which inspired me to use punchy typography, vibrant contrasts, and a retro aesthetic to capture their vibe. The oversized, heavy typeface reflects the “hive mind” concept—something powerful we all share when it comes to connection and love.
The design unfolds into a full package: the front and back covers showcase bold titles and band photography, while the inside spread reveals the lyrics overlaid on a vivid band image. The vinyl labels feature a custom illustration of a brain with a doorway and a glowing path, suggesting an invitation to enter the collective “hive mind.” Altogether, the project balances energy, nostalgia, and playfulness to celebrate the band’s sound and spirit.
